The Dispenser.

This project began as an exploration centred on the creation of a high-quality asset, reworked from a detailed digital scan to retain accurate real-world proportions. From this foundation, the model was further refined through sculpting, introducing subtle imperfections and surface detail to enhance realism.

The asset was developed to hold up at all viewing distances, requiring careful attention to form, texture, and material response. Emphasis was placed on achieving authentic real-world material characteristics, ensuring the model feels grounded, tactile, and visually convincing in both close-up and wide compositions.

Conceptually, the form incorporates an egg-timer–like funnel, referencing the finite nature of time within a consumer-driven society. This element serves as a subtle acknowledgement of waste and disposability, inspired by the discovery of a large pile of unpaired Vans sneakers discarded in a skip—an observation that informed the underlying narrative of consumption, loss, and accumulation.
