Science Renders

Produced high-end scientific visualisations for London-based agency Radley Yelder, rendered in Redshift.

The work is based on microscopic imagery, using real-world, high-magnification reference photography to inform surface structure, scale, and material behaviour. Each visual is developed with meticulous attention to detail, progressing through multiple stages of surface refinement guided by scientific references.

Texture and displacement detailing are initially established in black and white to accurately define form, depth, and contrast before transitioning into colour. This approach ensures surface complexity remains grounded in reality while allowing for controlled artistic interpretation.

Rendering in Redshift provides precise control over lighting, shading, and material response, while enabling complex shader network layering using multiple procedural textures—supporting nuanced surface variation, depth, and realism across the final imagery.
