Musical Chairs
The project explores an orchestrated dance governed by velocity and force, where individual elements move in synchrony, each playing a critical role in shaping the overall form. The motion is carefully balanced—structured yet fluid—creating a sense of collective movement rather than isolated action.
Within a zero-gravity environment, the chairs are drawn toward one another, forming a swirling, vortex-like composition. Their interactions are guided by a hybrid animation setup that combines keyframed animation with rigid body dynamics, allowing for precise creative direction while preserving realistic physical behaviour.
This approach provides control over timing, rhythm, and composition, while maintaining the complexity and authenticity of object-to-object collisions, resulting in motion that feels intentional, cohesive, and naturally driven.
