The butterfly in flight

A study of the Butterfly in flight.

The butterfly being a symbol of transformation, hope and rebirth. We adapt and adjust to our environment staying in tune with technology and trends, in order to keep in flight in this for ever changing world. Refining some substance painter, zbrush sculpting skills and rigging, this was a good exercise to sharpen my toolset in these areas.

The idea was to time ramp through to slow motion and and back, seeing the subtle wing flex. Referencing high speed film footage I realised this would be necesary to really sell this effect.

As if drawn to the light and warmth they flock to the light side of the rock.
